Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS

It's been a while since I've watch a Gundam series that kept me interested. Build fighters had a very interested concept and I felt a lot of nostalgia, especially after seeing the YMS-15 Gyan.

This was my go to suit in Federation v.s Zeon, by the way does anyone remember that game?

Anyway in my opinion Iron Blooded Orphans is one of the most refreshing Gundam series since Gundam 00. The combat scenes are creative, the characters have a lot of depth and so far no one is incredibly over powered. The story takes place 300 years after a conflict known as the "Calamity War". Earth when under a huge government reform, but conflict started building on Mars. Our hero, a boy named Mikazuki Augus, belongs to a private security company called Chryse Guard Security (CGS). The company accepts a mission to escort Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a girl who seeks to liberate the Martian city of Chryse from the rule of one of Earth's major powers. So in contrast to 00 which had a lot of drama between military groups, Orphans has a lot of focus of corporate greed. However, the military organization Gjallarhorn attacks CGS in order to nip this rebellion in the bud. CGS begins an evacuation, using Mikazuki and the other children as decoys. Orga Itsuka, the leader of the boys, decides to take this opportunity to rise up in revolt and launch a coup d'état against the adults who have been oppressing them. He gives Mikazuki the task of repulsing Gjallarhorn, and Mikazuki enters battle using the Gundam Barbatos, a mobile suit from the Calamity War era which has been serving as CGS's power.

My Thoughts

Gurren Lagann a series I enjoyed from start to finish without a dull or slow moment .When there is a dull moment it quickly cuts back to more action in a different scene to explain the plot more. There was nothing I found unclear about this when I was done watching this saga

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - Final Thoughts

General Summary:

2307 AD, the depletion of fossil forced humanity to search for a new source of power. This lead up to the the creation of a massive array of solar power power collectors orbiting the Earth. They are supported by three orbital elevators, each serving one of the three "power blocs" on the planet. With this new found source of power only the regions with the elevators benefited from the project. This resulted in a constant wars breaking out around the globe among minor countries for fuel and energy.  The conflict lead to the creation of a military group called Celestial Being, dedicated to eradicating war and uniting humanity. All events lead up the movie Gundam 00 The Movie: A wakening of the Trailblazer.

My Thoughts:

Out of all  the Gundam series this is a must see. It has just the right amount of romance (SEED killed me with the romance!), the Gundam's aren't too over powered and the story is awesome. If you don't like war anime with a lot of politics then you may not like it as much, but give it a shot.

Eureka Seven Ao - Final Thoughts

Fan made video.
The song used is Rumina - DJ Whitesmith
I think it fits well with the OST used for the show. Awesome job Zolmation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOo4rchaG0w

General Summary:

Ao Fukai is a 13 year old boy living in the year 2025 in Okinawa with Dr. Toshio Fukai ever since Ao’s mother Eureka disappeared 10 years ago. One day a mysterious group called Generation Blue attacks the local Scub Coral changing Ao’s life forever.

My Thoughts *SPOILLERS*:
As an anime (not taking into account it’s suppose to be a sequel)-

Getting passed the confusing and slow start I did enjoy the show. The fighting scenes were well done, and the soundtrack the great. Towards the end I was hating how with each episode ending I wanted to find out more.

As a sequel-

To be honest as a sequel from the anime I didn't like the approach they took. It's like they forgot about the all the original characters. Then the constant time shifts, the fact the Eureka and Renton seemed very selfish to me. For example when Ao wanted to save his parents, Renton let him like everything was completely fine. I'm glad the show came out, and not taking into account the original anime I did enjoy it, but I would have preferred a movie or short OVA about what happened right after the events of the original series. But that's just my take on the series. I would like to know yours.

Eureka Seven Final Thoughts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-zmMVZpeb8  (Fan made Trailer)

General Summary:

Renton Thurston is a fourteen year boy growing up in a very dull place called Bell Forest. Renton is the son of Adrock Thurston a researcher for the military who died in a testing accident, saving the world when Renton was very young. With little to do in his small town Renton takes up a sport called Lifting. One of his role models is a legendary lifter named Holland. Holland is the leader of the renegade group Gekkostate. One day a member of the Gekko by the name of Eureka crashes her mech into his room. The world as he knows it is forever turned upside down.

Why You Should Watch:

I would highly recommend this show to anyone who loves a romance story with a nice touch of action. Although the world is completely different from ours Dai Sato and the rest of the team made it extremely easy to develop a deep connection with most of the characters. With each episode you see each character slowly grow as if you where aboard the Gekko with them. The sound track is awesome with works from Supercar, Bivattchee, Flow, Denki Groove, and many others. If you haven't seen this series yet the first two episodes may bore you bit. At least that's the experience I had when I first saw it or introduced it to others but they are important. Also don't fret over Sub v.s Dub with this show the dialog pretty much stays the same. I have watched Euerka Seven about 10 times half Subbed and half Dubbed.

Final Thoughts:

I have not fully read the manga so I can't tell you witch is better but the anime does have a completely different approach to the story. The same with the movie and Eureka Seven Ao (will cover another day).
With that being said the anime alone is awesome. It does get a little confusing here and there but other than that I have no complaints! Besides the fact that the "sequel" Ao isn't really clear on what was kept from the original story and what got the boot (If you have seen Eureka Seven take a look at Ao episode 0 - New Order to understand what I mean). Watching Eureka with others no matter if they didn't like anime or didn't like the genre, everyone pretty much reacted the same to the show.
