My Thoughts

Gurren Lagann a series I enjoyed from start to finish without a dull or slow moment .When there is a dull moment it quickly cuts back to more action in a different scene to explain the plot more. There was nothing I found unclear about this when I was done watching this saga

Michiko to Hatchin Final Thoughts

General Summary:

Hana Morenos is an adopted girl who lives with her abusive foster family, and has lost any hope of gaining her freedom. The family receives a strange call from a lady who claims to be Hana’s mother, saying that she will pick her up the following day. The lady turns out to be Michiko Malandros, a feisty and sexy inmate who successfully escaped from the supposedly “inescapable” Diamandra Prison. After forcefully freeing Hana from the household, the two embark on a perilous journey to track down a man who is deeply embedded into their past.

My Thoughts:

I'm not sure how I stumbled on this amazing story four years back but I'm glad I did. Produced by the makers of Samurai Champloo, Michiko to Hatchin is something you should put on your To Watch list. The art work has a nice South American mix to it and the action and drama pull you. The ending for the show was perfect!

Outlaw Star - Final Thoughts

General Summary:

Gene Starwind and his 11-year-old business associate James Hawking run a small handyman business. After the two take a job as bodyguards for and engage in a brief skirmish with Pirates, Gene and Jim find themselves the owners of a ship Gene nicknames the "Outlaw Star" and the caretakers of a mysterious girl named Melfina. The ship's true purpose is to locate the "Galactic Leyline", a place which folks claim is a holder of immense treasure, knowledge, and power. Throughout the course of the series, the crew grows to include the kimono-garbed contract killer "Twilight" Suzuka and Aisha Clanclan, a catgirl of the Ctarl-Ctarl alien race.

My Thoughts:

Sorry for the Toonami trailer I know some of you feel really old right now lol. I loved this show and I'm glad I found the series online for my collection. Outlaw Star has a bit of everything in it: Action to Drama, Romance to Comedy. This is a must see classic.

FullMetal Alchemist (Original) - Final Thoughts

General Summary:

Edward and Alphonse Elric tried to use to alchemy to revive their dead mother. While doing the forbidden technique Edward loses him arm and leg, and Alphonse loses his body. Before passing out Edward stores Alphonse’s soul in a suit of armor. Later Edward becomes a State Alchemist and with his brother Alphonse hopes to find the legendary Philosopher’s Stone to recover their bodies.

My thoughts:

One of my favorite shows of all time! I haven't seen brotherhood yet so for now I can't tell you which one is better. If you decide to check out this series make sure you watch the movie so you can know what happens at the end (amazon link below). Which I also loved because it gave the show a very satisfying conclusion.

Eureka Seven Ao - Final Thoughts

Fan made video.
The song used is Rumina - DJ Whitesmith
I think it fits well with the OST used for the show. Awesome job Zolmation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOo4rchaG0w

General Summary:

Ao Fukai is a 13 year old boy living in the year 2025 in Okinawa with Dr. Toshio Fukai ever since Ao’s mother Eureka disappeared 10 years ago. One day a mysterious group called Generation Blue attacks the local Scub Coral changing Ao’s life forever.

My Thoughts *SPOILLERS*:
As an anime (not taking into account it’s suppose to be a sequel)-

Getting passed the confusing and slow start I did enjoy the show. The fighting scenes were well done, and the soundtrack the great. Towards the end I was hating how with each episode ending I wanted to find out more.

As a sequel-

To be honest as a sequel from the anime I didn't like the approach they took. It's like they forgot about the all the original characters. Then the constant time shifts, the fact the Eureka and Renton seemed very selfish to me. For example when Ao wanted to save his parents, Renton let him like everything was completely fine. I'm glad the show came out, and not taking into account the original anime I did enjoy it, but I would have preferred a movie or short OVA about what happened right after the events of the original series. But that's just my take on the series. I would like to know yours.

Cowboy Bebop Final Thoughts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT9JDIyiVgY

General Summary:

Spike, Jet, Faye, and Ed and a team of bounty hunters traveling through space on a ship called the Bebop. Mainly driven by money and a small since of justice the team works together (sometimes) to bring down their targets.

Further into the story (minor spoilers):

Spike is a former mafia member and with his close friend Vicious they ruled with a iron fist. After being betrayed and almost dying he decided to walk away. Later in the series his past comes back to hunt him. Jet is a former police officer that retired due to a mob hit that cost him his arm. Faye is a victim of a terrible accident during early space exploration. She was put into cryostasis and revived decades later. In part of the series she decided to investigate her past because of her memory lost. Edward is a young computer hacker from Earth. With a strange past and personality Ed completes the mismatched crew of the Bebop.

Final Thoughts:

I love this classical anime and this was the show that started my interest into anime. The show has everything from action to drama, comedy to romance, western to noir, and everything in between. The music is amazing, and I still revisit the show from time to time.

Eureka Seven Final Thoughts

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-zmMVZpeb8  (Fan made Trailer)

General Summary:

Renton Thurston is a fourteen year boy growing up in a very dull place called Bell Forest. Renton is the son of Adrock Thurston a researcher for the military who died in a testing accident, saving the world when Renton was very young. With little to do in his small town Renton takes up a sport called Lifting. One of his role models is a legendary lifter named Holland. Holland is the leader of the renegade group Gekkostate. One day a member of the Gekko by the name of Eureka crashes her mech into his room. The world as he knows it is forever turned upside down.

Why You Should Watch:

I would highly recommend this show to anyone who loves a romance story with a nice touch of action. Although the world is completely different from ours Dai Sato and the rest of the team made it extremely easy to develop a deep connection with most of the characters. With each episode you see each character slowly grow as if you where aboard the Gekko with them. The sound track is awesome with works from Supercar, Bivattchee, Flow, Denki Groove, and many others. If you haven't seen this series yet the first two episodes may bore you bit. At least that's the experience I had when I first saw it or introduced it to others but they are important. Also don't fret over Sub v.s Dub with this show the dialog pretty much stays the same. I have watched Euerka Seven about 10 times half Subbed and half Dubbed.

Final Thoughts:

I have not fully read the manga so I can't tell you witch is better but the anime does have a completely different approach to the story. The same with the movie and Eureka Seven Ao (will cover another day).
With that being said the anime alone is awesome. It does get a little confusing here and there but other than that I have no complaints! Besides the fact that the "sequel" Ao isn't really clear on what was kept from the original story and what got the boot (If you have seen Eureka Seven take a look at Ao episode 0 - New Order to understand what I mean). Watching Eureka with others no matter if they didn't like anime or didn't like the genre, everyone pretty much reacted the same to the show.
